Stunning Jewelry Made with Joy and Designed with Pride

Alainn is Irish for "beautiful". My wonderful Irish grandmother was the most beautiful person in the world to me - inside and out.

My grandmother was my North Star. I adored her and she always made me feel very loved. We were inseparable when I was little. She made most of my clothes - including my 1st Communion dress. She taught me how to make clothes for my dolls - with perfect, tiny stitches. She taught me how to make sewing patterns out of newspaper. She taught me to knit and crochet. She taught me how to cook. She taught me to paint and glaze ceramics.

And she taught me to bead. I was probably 3 or 4 years old when she gave me a tin full of buttons - every size and color imaginable - and I went crazy stringing bracelets and necklaces for everyone in the house - a foreshadowing of my passion for making jewelry, I guess. She was creative, strong, funny and she and my mother were not just mother and daughter - they were best friends.

Today, I work to create dazzling statement jewelry. I love using seed beads to create colorful pieces. I love how the right piece of jewelry can transform a so-so outfit into a show-stopper! I'm not finished with a piece until I think it is the most beautiful it can possibly be - and I hope you think it's beautiful as well. Enjoy!
